IGW Belgium Celebrates 250 Days Without Work Accidents

We are thrilled to announce that IGW Belgium has achieved a remarkable milestone of 250 days without any work accidents. This achievement is a testament to our unwavering commitment to safety and the collective efforts of our dedicated team.

250 days might not seem like a lifetime, but if you know that in 2021, 1,13 on 100.000 workers in Belgium died due to a work related accident, fostering a culture that priorities safety is of the utmost importance.

Over the years, IGW Belgium has implemented a series of robust safety initiatives aimed at creating a secure and healthy work environment. These initiatives include adaptations to the shop floor surroundings, training programs to ensure all employees are well-versed in safety protocols, safety audits, etc.

Safety on the mind

More recently, a broader comprehensive awareness campaign to promote a safety-aware culture within the plant was introduced. The campaign, called “gear up safety” includes:

• Safety Awareness Workshops: Interactive workshops are organized to educate employees about the importance of safety and the role they play in maintaining a safe workplace. These workshops cover a wide range of topics, from hazard identification to emergency response.
• Prominent communication: Across the plant, the Gear up safety campaign is visible and prominent. This ensures that safety in the work space stays top of mind and people quickly know how to find their way to the safety trainings and protocols.

This milestone of 250 days without work accidents is a significant achievement for IGW Belgium. It reflects our dedication to creating a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.
